Geneva, Switzerland — The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has published a new international standard for green modular data centers. The standard establishes comprehensive energy efficiency benchmarks and sustainability requirements for prefabricated data center modules.

The new standard covers PUE targets, water efficiency, recyclable materials, and lifecycle carbon accounting. Compliance is expected to become a prerequisite for major government procurement contracts in the EU and Southeast Asia by 2027.
